The programmes are conducted by both the PRDA programme staff as well as by external resource persons.

  The Women’s Enterprise Development (WED) Project revolves round a financial mechanism established by PRDA for providing financial support to the members of the Women’s Savings Organizations which are a sub-sect of the CBOs affiliated to PRDA.

  The network of CBOs affiliated to PRDA is composed of 31 organisations with 18 located in Gampaha; 7 in Chilaw and 6 in Puttalam. The total membership is 1075 and they are exclusively women. PRDA thus reaches our directly to 1075 families and 31 village communities.

Photographing the masks at the Sri Sunandaramaya temple in Mirissa, Matara
   
  Deities, demons and magic form part of the popular beliefs of the Sinhalese and are closely associated with the folk culture, rituals, healing practices and play in Sri Lanka. Sri Sunandaramaya temple in Mirissa is one of the religious centres that have strived to protect and preserve a large number of original masks of deities and demons that it inherited and used in folk rituals, healing practices and drama in the ancient times. PRDA took the initiative to photograph these masks and preserve them in electronic form.

  Mrs. Shanti Fernando, Chief Executive of PRDA visited Rome, Italy from 25th to 5th July 2007. Mrs. Fernando was invited by the Province of Ferrara in Italy, who supported the tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses in Mawella, a fishing village in the Hambantota district.
